Grape boycotts in Wisconsin were organized by the local farm-worker labor union, Obreros Unidos (United Workers) an independent farm worker labor union effort in the 1960s. According to David Giffey and Jesús Salas, "opposition to the boycott picket lines came from corporations, police, politicians and right-wing counter pickets" who erroneously associated the boycott with an international Communist conspiracy.
